August’s Top Five Astro-Events
1. Mars opposes Jupiter and squares Pluto on the 3rd, completing the
warrior planet’s spectacular march through the most intense outer
planet alignment since the mid-1960s. The battle lines are being drawn
under this influence as global economic, political, and environmental
stakes are debated at the highest levels. Personal goals take a back
seat to historic geopolitical shifts.
2. The U.S. progressed Moon conjoins natal Neptune on the 8th, likely
bringing a culmination of the BP oil spill disaster. After this point,
we know what the damage is and what the risk is going forward. Also,
since Neptune squares Mars in the U.S. chart, military tension along
the hostile interfaces will likely increase, ushering in a wave of

3. Venus conjoins Mars on the 20th, but these two love planets are a
major influence from the 8th to 30th as they travel together through
Libra. New romances may start during this phase, or those in committed

up.
4. Jupiter and Saturn oppose each other on the 16th while this
polarity is ½º from squaring Pluto. This unusually tight T-square
formation most likely represents severe economic problems, since

planet in the early degrees of Cardinal signs will likely be going
through a major life transition.
5. Saturn squares Pluto on the 21st, the third and final passage of
this highly conservative, nationalistic vibe. The GOP and Tea Party

November election. However, Mercury turning retrograde on the 20th may

i don’t know if anyone remembers the post i did on pakistan a few days – 5 or so – ago? pakistan had its worst aviation accident ever on tuesday.. the event took place at about 943am islambad.. if you do a chart for this time you can see the close connections between the pakistan chart for 930am aug 14 1947 and the time of this plane crash.. while i wouldn’t have predicted the plane crash, i would have predicted a difficult time for pakistan and continue to do so given the overall direction of the transits to the chart – one of 3, which i happen to think works well for pakistan.. i am very sorry for all the families who lost their loved ones in this plane crash..

Sodom and Gomorrah, I think so. The prison news is chilling. I had rumors of this but first I saw it in real print ! A local News station at 10–last night was the only one tying Gov Brewer to the prisons. This really is scandalous. I am beginning to think this is really the “Sun-Belt Mafia””.. I could blame it on all the Republicans in office here? but not sure yet.
What is so funny about the call-in’s today, was people called and e-mailed angry at the “”news stations””
They were angry that they just showed the protesters.
They wanted a “balanced” news, and there was not any–LOL. There was no one out “FOR” SB1070, and ALL the stations locally, showed the protesters, because that was all there was !! The people, were angry at the “reality” of the news—Too many retirees-watching the news–all the younger people out protesting–or old real protesters left over from the “60’s”–well, too much excitement for Tucson !! There will be more..I have just been through N. Mexico, but have visited in Texas. Although Texas, is cowboy/red-neck–they have kept the Mexican influence/ decor/shops/food and made what they have beautiful. There has never been that feeling here? That I have noticed. The Mexican culture has not been appreciated-my opinion ! Too bad, I have always noticed, that it has such a different feeling than Seattle, as far as ethnic grps are concerned…

The tv coverage today was predominantly about AZ. It looked like there was a lot of energy among the protesters, but I appreciate your account being in AZ. Undocumenteds are only the latest scapegoats, but I’m somewhat hopeful given the push back. It’s interesting to see how the t-square is playing out so far. Saturn Pluto relates to scapegoating, but we’re also seeing the push back from the Jupiter Uranus side – individuals speaking out and taking a stand for civil liberties.

i finished reading shlomo sands book ‘the invention of the jewish people’.. it is such a good book that brought much better understanding to many of the dynamics at play in and around the i/p issue for me that i am not sure where to begin to articulate the better understanding i feel i got from reading this book… that is the beauty of reading books i guess – good ones anyway!!!
i now have found some time to get down to reading a book called mundane astrology by 3 authors and a book that is right up my alley as i seem to have a stronger interest in this then horary, or individual astrology for some reason… understanding the nature of nations through the use of an astrology chart has been going on for a long time.. many ideas i have heard before are given a historical context in this book so that i can see the development for the ideas that are still in use today.. this is helpful.. one example is the idea of using a leaders chart to express the direction of a nation and how this would emphasize obama’s chart and the dynamics to it in having some or a lot of bearing on the direction of the usa.. at least we seem to have a chart for obama that is mostly beyond question which we can’t say for the many charts in use for the usa… well i suppose the inauguration chart can help complicate things further!

vermont 83 – regarding lorenzo.. it helps to try to keep things on an even keel with someone who is sharp with words and doesn’t suffer fools easily.. i have had a few private conversations with him via noel’s forum and this has helped to keep things relatively smooth with him.. i had the thought of finding more out about him just 2 days ago and discovered a few things about him that i was unaware of… he was unwilling to give his birth data as he had run into some problems sharing it with some others on an astro site before so decided against it with my request.. however it is indeed on the net if one is willing to sleuth around.. he told me 1949 at which point i mentioned the saturn in virgo must be a prominent feature to his chart.. it turns out he has a loose saturn/sun conj in virgo, with saturn oriental, meaning it takes on greater significance as it rises just before the sun and tends to flavour the chart a certain way… anyway, he is a nice fellow if you can get past his wicked verbal and writing abilities..some can’t.. i think some find him arrogant too, although i can’t say that i do.. bottom line is if one is interested in learning something, they can benefit from listening to his astro thoughts greatly… many aren’t that interested..
unfortunately packaging counts for so much in our day and age.. if it isn’t packaged properly, that is usually enough to turn folks off of something… i see this as a direct result of how much our world has become consumer oriented, as opposed to substance oriented.. i have a saturn rising and have always thought about this.. saturn is like the beast in beauty and the beast.. does one work on their persona to the point of killing the inner spirit inside of it all? this seems to me what our culture has done, or what marketing 101 has taught so many… why just this morning i was reading an article by noel tyl that he had put up and it is a good example of this that i will quote here..

dbla 86 – thanks! just one more thought which was expressed by someone else, but to which i agree.. not only does the ascendant tell us something about what we or others give off usually more unconsciously, but the descendant tells us something too as in the way we respond to others, we set up a dynamic that is either supportive or not towards others.. if we are interested in understanding all this i think we need to look at the ascendant, descendant and any planets making aspect to this axis… i have my work cut out for me!

hi, i was looking into this event and trying to make some sense of harmonic age charts at the same time.. they are interesting if nothing else, but i don’t know enough about them to use them with confidence yet.. here is what i did..
i relocated the potusa – 1 chart to dallas texax. the angles i get for dallas with the potusa – 1 chart are ascendant at 7 leo 30 and midheaven at 29 aries 36.. the solar arcs for november 22 1963 put sa pluto at 7 leo 43 and sa sun at 29 libra 19.. those are the first 2 connections to these angles for the relocated chart.. the ruler of the sun in potusa -1 chart is venus which is conjunct natal neptune, while neptune rules the 8th in the relo chart… sa mercury is exact opposite natal mars.. i am just skimming the surface here with the solar arcs to the relocated chart…
the harmonic age chart happens to have a sun/saturn/pluto conj at 29/26/24 sag which is 135 the natal sun at 10 taurus.. if you don’t bother to relocated this chart before you get the harmonic chart off it, the rising degree for the event is 1 taurus which is right on the venus/uranus square in the natal potusa-1 chart and puts the saturn/pluto conj in the 8th sign to taurus – 8th house as well by my approach.. using the relocated chart for the harmonic age chart gives an ascendant of 26 cap 54 and midheaven 8 leo 33.. the –1sun/saturn/pluto at 29/26/24 sag is in the 12th house.. the solar arc ascendant off the relocated potusa -1 chart once again is 26 capricorn – same as in the harmonic age chart for the date of jfk’s assassination while the relo midheaven is right on sa pluto..
it is all very interesting if nothing else…

I don’t think so, not with the Uranus square to Pluto. Historically, the vibrancy of socialism and grassroots movements is heightened under Uranus Pluto, so through 2020, I don’t think we’re going to see a death of socialism.

Pakistan – wars of words From: Marjorie. (02 Aug 2010 11:27):
David Cameron has raised Pakistani ire with some sharp comments about them looking both ways on Islamist violence and promoting the export of terror. Since he had newly emerged from cosy chats with President Obama one assumes he was acting in a way that would please the US.
Pakistan does seem to be where the main problem of recent events from 9/11 through the UK 7/7 lies. Though whether saying so will make much difference is questionable.
The Pakistan chart is very much on edge at the moment with the blocked, bad tempered tr Saturn square its 10th house Mars and tr Uranus also square now and returning in March 2011 and late in the year as well. Uranus square Mars is highly insecure and tends to result in macho gestures to prop up drooping morale so leads to rash, ill judged actions – and it can also be explosive. The Pakistan Midheaven and Ascendant at 28 degrees Gemini/Virgo is also being walloped around by tr Uranus in Sept this year and February next year so many changes of direction and changes to its image.
The Pakistan/UK relationship chart has tr Pluto hovering over the IC/nadir so beginning a longish period of resentments and bad feeling emerging. With tr Saturn conjunct the composite Ascendant and square the comp MC in September so the froideur will continue. The recent July Cancer Eclipse was also conjunct the composite 10th house Moon so some fall out was to be expected, of a highly emotional nature. Next year’s Eclipses also impact on this chart. The UK is hardly a main player on the world stage but does have a large Pakistani Muslim immigrant population so their relationship to Pakistan is significant.
The USA/Pakistan relationship is more uncertain at the moment with tr Saturn conjunct and tr Uranus opposition the composite Neptune. It will also become much more intense over the New Year into 2011 as tr Pluto returns to trine the composite Moon and sextile comp Pluto. So heavy pressure is being exerted. And that will continue later in 2011 as well.
The December 2010 Lunar Eclipse in late Gemini is a difficult one and it impacts on both the Pakistan and USA 11am charts quite significantly. Lunar Eclipses are not necessarily indicators of major events but it does look stressed around that time.

the one that marjorie and i appear to be using is the one used by pakistani astrologers – 930am aug 14/47, or 915am by some.. the one lorenzo suggests here is 0:00 aug 15/47, or the march 23/56 one…
it is tough as i was working with the same one as marjorie it seems and it does seem to connect to the events coming out of pakistan.. however lorenzo basically sees these type of connections as pinning the tail on the donkey… i am open to him being correct on this as i think he has examined astrology from a different vantage point then i am used to seeing in most astrologers and one i admire for that and other reasons…

Putting the time at around 5.30pm would put his Sagittarius Sun exactly on the Ascendant with his Pluto on the Midheaven, with Chelsea’s Venus in Aries on the IC/nadir.

He may have a Pisces or Aquarius Moon opp Saturn.
Her Leo Moon and Venus in Aries do connect well with his Sagittarius planets though it’ll be noisy with her Moon conjunct his Mars. And if he was born after 10 in the morning and is a Pisces Moon then his Moon will be conjunct her Sun which is good.
The problems may come from his hard working, nit-picky Saturn in Virgo conjunct her Mars Jupiter opp her Sun which will damp down her enthusiasm somewhat. And her Saturn is also square his Sun so it’ll work in the opposite direction as well. I suspect with all that Saturn it’s a marriage where work is going to play a central role and get in the way. Though she’s very used to that scenario from her childhood.
Their relationship chart has an expansive though possibly also extravagant and over hopeful composite Sun opposition Jupiter; a passionate Venus trine Pluto; and a rather super-charged Venus opp Mars square Uranus (perhaps opp Moon) which suggest an unconventional marriage in which both need a fair amount of space.

She’ll be slightly downbeat with that Saturn though a good organiser, hard working and will come into her own later in life I’d imagine career-wise. So she’s overly concerned with duty, doesn’t look to have had too much emotional nurturing from either parents and is quite dependent on a close partner for security.
